Quick Start
Here are some tips for quickly getting started with CheXPressScan:
If installation has proceeded without error, you should be able to just start the program using the defaults.
To scan, just enter a check in the right hand feed slot, front facing out. The check will be pulled in, the image scanned and images captured, (and endorsed if so chosen), check ejected, and the images will be filed on disk, and the database updated with the information. As each check is scanned, you'll see the image on the screen to verify that it's a good image.
You can double-click on any record in the database and see the image.
You can use the calendars and "Set Range" on the data tab to choose a range of dates, to restrict the database to only those days.
Once you've done that, there are several things you can do
1) Especially if you set the date range for today, double click on the first record, and you'll see the image. Now you can enter the amount to the check, hit the <enter> key, see the next image, enter the amount for that, and so on. Now you can use the Sigma Button to add up the list to make a deposit slip, or print a transaction report for the day.
2) Print those checks, or
3) Output the data for a CSV (Comma Separated Value) File for import into another system. This file is also SpreadSheet compatible
Use "cancel range" to reset the database to again see the full scope of records in the system.
Hint : the date range normally defaults to today's date, so if you're doing daily tallying, the date is set, just hit "set Range" and you'll see all of today's data. If you're wanting to select a prior day's group, you can right click on any record in the datatable with the date you want, and a menu will pop up and ask you to "use this date"? the date range calendars will be set for that date.
You can always just use the drop down calandars to choose any range of dates you want.
Anytime the number of records in the database changes, it will always be reflected in the lower windows status bar.
