Kent Phelps heads software development
for WitsEnds Software, and is the author of the products
offered at this web site. Kent is trained as a physicist and mathematician,
and is, as well, a Mensan, pilot, sailor, auto racer, luthier,
and guitarist. He has written articles for PC Magazine and business
journals.
Kent has more than thirty years' experience
in the computer industry, including skills in PICK operating systems,
DOS-based Windows programming, and management, accounting, and
consulting experience with Fortune 500 companies. Kent's background
has included: technical sales and support for national computer
companies, vice president and general manager of a computer software
company, MIS director for a $30M construction company, and software
custom inventor for unique and specialized PC-based applications.
Since the parent company of WitsEnds Software, CommuniConsultants,
Inc., was established in 1984, Kent has designed and managed
the creation of over thirty major applications. He has
had numerous articles published in regional and national magazines
on computer-related subjects.
Kent has state-of-the-art expertise in designing,
building, and servicing document imaging systems. He is experienced
in Windows Thru version 7, C++, C, Pascal, Delphi, assembler, embedded processors, SQL and,
ODBC Database, client/server, image format programming. He
has a strong and comprehensive background in all aspects of relational
database systems, from design through development and marketing
to sales, after-sales support, and resale of upgrades. Kent is
knowledgeable about advanced PC systems, networks and servers, as well as PICK
OS, Revelation 4GL databases, R/BASIC, PC Assembler, PC
basic, Palm OS and Prolog.
