Legato interface
ChekScan now has available an automatic interface
to Legato imaging systems via the Application Extender module.
Checks are scanned using Digital Check's TellerScan
small document/check scanner, and images sent to the local
workstation.
Indexing
Check images are automatically indexed by routing number, account
number, check number and amount (if encoded), as well as by scan
date and a user-specified classification code of as many as three
characters (making up to 45,000 unique combinations), to identify,
for example, teller number or department. Each scanner/workstation
also has a branch number associated with it to tie the batch information
to other software.
Image export
ChekScan's flexible export choices create a .csv (Comma Separated
Values) file suitable for processing by Legato containing the
indexing data as well as image location information. Export/Upload
into Legato can either be accomplished manually via a menu choice,
or else automatically uploaded unattended at a time of the system
administrator's choosing. In either case, the CSV file is exported,
and the IndexImageImport program called from the Legato software
to perform the import into Legato (formerly OTG).
Error log
During the processing a log is kept of the process status and
errors logged. The system administrator can request that the unattended
workstation send an e-mail notification of the errors should they
occur.
Deletion/retention
Images and indexing data can be deleted from the workstation after
successful upload, or else retained as backup. In either case
each record on the local workstation database is marked as successfully
uploaded as the process proceeds.
Once ChekScan is configured, the operator/teller
needs only to place checks in the hopper and press "Scan."
Front and back check images are combined into one image and automatically
transferred to the Legato system.
